Ducati Scrambler Sixty2 showcased at 2015 Thailand Motor Expo

The Ducati Scrambler Sixty2 is being showcased at the 2015 Thailand Motor Expo in Bangkok. It was unveiled to the world at the 2015 EICMA in Milan last month.

The Scrambler Sixty2 (previously denoted as the Ducati Scrambler 400) is a modest version of the popular Scrambler 800 that looks nearly alike the latter including its engine construction. The motorcycle is powered by a new 399 cc L-twin air-cooled engine with 2 valves per cylinder and desmodromic distribution that produces 41 PS of maximum power at 8,750 rpm and 34.6 Nm of peak torque at 8,000 rpm. The motor is paired to a six-speed gearbox.

Replacing the larger Scrambler as the most affordable Ducati, the Sixty2 draws inspiration from youth street culture, skateboards, street food, pop music, according to the company. The name Scrambler Sixty2 is a tribute to the year 1962 which is when the first Ducati Scrambler was launched.

The dynamic features of the 167 kg entry-level Ducati include a tubular steel Trellis frame, a 14-litre stainless steel fuel tank, a Showa 41 mm fork, a steel tube swingarm, disc brake on both wheels governed by ABS as standard, a black exhaust shield, a Pirelli MT 60 RS 110/80 R18 front tyre and a Pirelli MT 60 RS 160/60 R17 rear tyre.

The Scrambler Sixty2 is priced from £6,450 (INR 4.55 lakhs). Its colour choices include Atomic Tangerine, Ocean Grey and Chignon Black.
