The New Maruti Suzuki Vitara has been
on sale in the international market for some time now. The first pictures of
the Suzuki Vitara in India have been making their rounds on the internet. It
was unveiled at the 2015 Paris Motor Show and is expected to be Maruti Suzuki’s
flagship model in India in its category.
The Vitara gets a twin slat chrome
grille up front flanked by horizontally stacked sharp looking headlights. The
long inclined bonnet blends into the grille. The large bumper has integrated
circular fog lamps and vertical Daytime Running Lights. The Vitara also gets
skid plates at the front. The blackened out pillars and the gunmetal finished
alloy wheels make the for overall good looks. From the rear, the Vitara looks
extremely similar to the S-Cross thanks to the wraparound taillights.
The cabin of the Vitara looks
typically Maruti Suzuki thanks to the steering wheel and the clocks. The
dashboard is washed in black with a strip of orange highlight. The centre
console gets a large touch screen infotainment system that sits above the
electronic climate control.
In the
international market, the Vitara comes with a 1.6-litre petrol and diesel unit.
The gasoline as well as diesel unit makes 120 horses. The torque figures,
though, stand at 156Nm and 320Nm respectively. After the S-Cross, the Vitara
will be the second car to get the 1.6-litre engine.
