Toyota Innova Crysta launched at INR 13.84 lakhs

After over 10 years, the second generation model of Toyota’s MPV, Toyota Innova Crysta, has been launched. Available in four variants with manual transmission (Zx, Vx, Gx & G) and in two variants with an automatic transmission (Zx & Gx), the Innova Crysta's is priced between 13.84 lakhs - 20.78 lakhs (ex-showroom, Mumbai).

Although the wheel base remains the same, the dimensions of the Innova Crysta have changed by 150 mm in length, 70 mm in width and 35 mm in height. It measures 4,735 mm long, 1,830 mm wide and 1,795 mm tall, and has a wheelbase of 2,750 mm. The exterior exhibits styling which are motivated by the company’s latest models. This MPV comes with an option of either seven seat or eight seat configuration and is packed with host of new features. The stylish and modernised cabin will be complemented by the looks on the exterior as it has an appealing upgrade on the outside.

The top-end ZX variant is the most feature-packed in the MPV segment and features smart entry system with start/stop button, seven airbags as standard along with ABS, EBD and BA, automatic climate control, 7-inch audio system with navigation, wood trim on steering wheel, automatic LED headlamps and 17 inch alloy wheels.

Under the hood, Toyota Crysta is offered with two diesel options: 2.4L and 2.8L GD engines. The former gives an output of 149 PS and 343 Nm of torque, while the latter produces 174 PS and 360 Nm of torque. Transmission is through a 5-speed manual and 6-speed automatic for the 2.4L and 2.8L respectively.

With the large dimensions and premium pricing, the Innova Crysta will establish a premium MPV segment in the Indian market that slots above the ‘compact’ MPV segment comprising of the Maruti Ertiga, Renault Lodgy and Honda Mobilio. 

The deliveries will kick start from 13th May onwards.
