Ford Mustang to be launched in India today

Ford India is geared up to launch the Mustang Coupe in India today. This will mark the official entry of the muscle car in the nation. The Mustang will be imported from the United States through the CBU route.

As per reports, The Mustang will be offered in its top variant, Mustang GT, in the Indian market. It will be powered by a 5.0-liter Ti-VCT V8 engine paired to a 6-speed SelectShift automatic transmission. The engine will develop 435 hp and 542 Nm of torque. The car will weigh around 1,691 kg.

The new Mustang rides on a modern suspension system, as compared to its predecessor. It gets a Double-ball-joint MacPherson strut with stabilizer bar at the front and an Integral-link independent suspension with coil springs and stabilizer bar at the rear.

Few of the performance features that buyers can look forward to on the Mustang GT.are Launch control, Electronic line-lock (which lets drivers warm up the rear tyres by locking the front brakes), selectable driving modes and selectable electric power assisted steering (EPAS).

Automatic headlamps with wiper activation, HID headlamps with signature lighting, LED taillamps with sequential turn signals, dual-stage front airbags, AdvanceTrac electronic stability control, front knee airbags, side curtain airbags, Individual Tire Pressure Monitoring System, Perimeter alarm, Rear view camera and a Remote Keyless Entry System are other features found on the Mustang GT.

The new Mustang will introduce a niche 2-door segment in India that – like any American muscle car – offers instinctive road presence and a powerful engine at a price tag likely cheaper than its European equivalents.
